Pillars Ball 2012 kept close to home for their aptly themed gala, Chicago — My Kind of Town on Jan. 28.
The perennially popular gala drew more than 520 guests to The Westin in Lombard and provided plenty of excitement, activity and generosity.
The event brought the city to life with displays of a city skyline, 12-foot high “L” tracks and replicas of both the legendary Chicago Theatre sign and the Picasso sculpture in Daley Plaza. Scattered throughout the floor were casino style gaming stations of blackjack, poker, craps and a gaming wheel.
Following dinner, Steve Palmer, co-owner of Palmer Place in La Grange, served as the auctioneer for the live auction which included trips to Tuscany and St. Croix.
The dance floor capped off the evening, as guests hit the floor to the tunes of Entourage.
The gala raised more than $180,000 for Pillars, a leading mental health and social service agency serving 36 communities and more than 10,000 people.
