LaGrange Park couple victim of ruse burglary

LAGRANGE PARK — An elderly LaGrange Park couple reported being the target of a ruse burglary Feb. 2 on the 1200 block of Cleveland Avenue.
A man took the husband into the basement to discuss a water problem. Two other men entered the kitchen and told the man’s wife they would be helping with the water problem.
The couple later discovered $300 was missing, police said.
Police are reminding residents how a No Solicitors sign may help protect them from criminals.
If a sign is displayed and ignored by someone coming to the home, residents should call police at the non-emergency number at (708) 352-2151.
