Born on a farm in Piper City, Ill., to John and Ruth Ann Penicook, John Penicook was known as an early riser who aspired to be a farmer and coach basketball.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in information assurance from Purdue University before pursuing a career in investment banking in Chicago.
