Elena Sofia, a Nazareth Academy junior from Westchester, tries to take advantage of all the opportunities Nazareth has to offer. A musician, athlete and honors student, Sofia is also involved in Student Council, Youth Initiative, Yearbook, National Honor Societies and Student Athletic Trainer. Outside of Naz, she works part time in a gym and volunteers at her church’s Sunday school. She also recently joined classmates to volunteer at Westchester Middle School’s Family Science Night.
“I really liked teaching the students all the different parts of the experiment. It was a great way to see what teaching a class was like,” she said.
College counselor Melissa Byram had this to say about Elena, “Dependable. Loyal. Hard-working. Welcoming. Driven. These are just a few words that come to mind when someone mentions the name, Elena Sofia. These are also the exact characteristics I look for when choosing students for Nazareth Academy’s student ambassador program, The Roadrunner Club, in which Elena Sofia has been an absolute stand-out member and leader.”
