Sue Storm knows there are skeptics out there, but the woman who bills herself as “The Angel Lady” is OK with that.

Storm, an inspirational speaker and author, was the guest speaker Sunday at the Chicago Suburban Institute of Noetic Sciences meeting at Union Church of Hinsdale.

She has been on more than 2,500 radio and television shows and has written three books about angels.

Storm also offers services as a prosperity consultant and angelic adviser. She claims on her website to have taught thousands of people how to improve their lives by connecting with their guardian angels.

“I just say to the skeptics, ‘try it,’” she said. “It’s not for everyone, but I tell the skeptics to see if it works for them.”

Storm said her first encounter with angels was at age 18 months, when she saw them flying overhead during a near-death experience. From that time on she has been able to see, hear and feel the presence of angels, she said.

She spoke Sunday in front of an audience of about 10 people and said her appearance in Hinsdale went well.

“Everyone seemed to be happier; the idea is just to make their lives better,” she said.

And Storm attempts to do that by helping others to connect with their angels.

“I have a gift, but it’s not just me being able to do it; they can do it for themselves,” she said. “There’s a sense of knowing.”

Storm did a few exercises with attendees during Sunday’s session, taking those exercises out of her latest book, Angel First Aid; Remedies for Life, Love and Prosperity.

“I took some remedies right out of the book so they could feel it,” she said.

Storm said she will be back to speak at Union Church of Hinsdale from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 12.
