Lions roar at combined assembly for Lyons Township High School

A fleet of buses brought freshmen and sophomores from the Lyons Township High School South Campus in Western Springs to join upperclassmen at the north campus in La Grange Friday for a rousing exercise in school spirit and fun.
The combined assembly featured an array of contests among the classes and between various sports teams and clubs.
A lip sync contest capped the morning with a surprise appearance by You Tube sensation Keenan Cahill, a 15-year-old Chicago student with thousands of fans who follow his lip-syncing versions of popular hits. Cahill, who lives with a rare genetic disorder known as Maroteaux Lamy Syndrome, has raised awareness for the disorder, which often results in a dwarf-like appearance.
