Chicago man held for sexual assault of 15-year-old girl

A 27-year-old Chicago man has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in Westchester.

Leonard Harris, of 6624 S. Ingleside Ave., was being held Jan. 23 in lieu of $150,000 bond at the Cook County Jail, following his arrest Jan. 21.

Harris was charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault because of an age difference of more than five years, as well as sexual assault because the girl is a minor and can’t give legal consent, said police Lt. Stephen Stabosz. Both counts are felonies.

The victim was released after treatment at Loyola Medical Center.

Harris is scheduled to appear Jan. 27 in the Maybrook branch of Cook County Circuit Court.
