Man charged in La Grange burglary

LA GRANGE — A 37-year-old LaGrange Park man has been charged with burglary in connection with an Aug. 6 bike theft from a garage on the 500 block of Park Avenue in La Grange.

Brent C. Carlson, 34, of 630 N. Park Road, was charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools, police investigator Patrick Fulla said.

Police were called about 11:30 a.m. when someone was seen taking a bike from the garage attached to the home. Fulla said witnesses helped identify Carlson, who was arrested at his home at about 2 p.m. No sign of forced entry was found at the garage.

Whether the bike was recovered is still part of the investigation, Fulla said.

Carlson is being held at the Cook County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Aug. 29 in the Bridgeview branch of Cook County Circuit Court.
