La Grange firefighters respond to smoking transformer

LA GRANGE — La Grange firefighters responded to a report of a smoking transformer about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at 55th Street and Brainard Avenue.
Several power outages were reported in the area as a result and through the night. St. Cletus School was closed Wednesday morning as a result of the outage.
Fire Chief Bill Bryzgalski said firefighters from the Pleasantview Fire Protection District also were heading to the scene.
