La Grange issues storm alert

LA GRANGE — Village officials have issued a winter storm warning in effect from 3 p.m. today until 3 a.m. Friday. Intense snow fall rates, reduced visibility and sustained winds of 25 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are predicted. The heaviest snowfall and lowest visibility is anticipated between 5 and 9 p.m. today.

Public Works crews have prepared for winter weather and are ready to respond to changing conditions, village officials report. The priorities for snow removal are La Grange Road, Ogden Avenue and 47th Street, as well as streets, sidewalks and parking lots of the central business district. Secondary roads are cleared next.

ComEd is also on alert due to the anticipated high winds and will open their Emergency Response Center at 3 p.m. Call ComEd to report outages and/or downed power lines at 1-(800) 334-7661.
