LA GRANGE
Six candidates are seeking three seats on the Village Board in the April 9 election.
Incumbents Mark Langan, William Holder and Michael Horvath are facing challenges from David McCarty, Joan Hoigard and Jeff Tucek.
Lisa Sher filed Dec. 26 to run for village clerk against John Burns. Neither candidates sought slating by the Citizens Council of La Grange, a nonpartisan group which vets candidates.
Tom Livingston, who served eight years on the Village Board, is unopposed in his bid for village president to replace Liz Asperger.
The Citizens Council in November slated Langan, Holder and David McCarty, who has served on the village’s Plan Commission, Design Review Board and the Heritage and Architectural Commission.
The Citizens Council passed over Hoigard, a 24-year resident and project engineer, and Tucek, a retired business consultant to the automotive industry and resident since 2008.
Horvath didn’t seek the Citizens Council backing in his bid for a third term.
