BURR RIDGE — More than 400 women and guests of St. Francis Xavier Church in La Grange enjoyed lunch, boutique shopping and motivating speakers Saturday at the Burr Ridge Marriott.
The church’s Catholic Women’s Club sponsored the event with parishioner Laura Armstrong of LaGrange Park, sharing a talk on ways for women to maintain the important relationships in their lives.
“It helps us as women sit back and think about what do I want to be remembered for, whether it’s being a mom, giving back to the community or working and juggling it all,” said Mary Gibbons of La Grange.
A communication skills consultant for Victory Consulting in LaGrange Park, Armstrong has trained more than 20,000 professionals and led more than 500 development seminars throughout the country and abroad.
Another parishioner, Wendy Snyder of La Grange served as emcee for the program. Snyder works as a disc jockey, talk show host and a member of the Morning Show team on WLS-AM radio.
The event featured time for shopping from vendors Simple Treasure, Frill, J. Hillburn and The Daily Method in La Grange and other firms, as well as a raffle with more than $20,000 in donated prizes.
