LAGRANGE PARK — Two men were charged Feb. 21 with the burglary of a home on the 1400 block of Scotdale Road.
Police arrested Fernando Gonzales, 30, of no known address, and Felipe Martinez, 21, of 2635 S. Komensky Ave., Chicago, shortly after 1 p.m. when police received a report of a suspicious van on the 1600 block of La Grange Road.
Burglary tools and stolen items were found inside, later linked to a break-in on Scotdale, where the rear door of a home had been pried open. Police said no one was home at the time of the burglary.
LaGrange Park Police Chief Daniel McCollum said a call from a concerned resident led to the arrest.
“We encourage people to report suspicious activity and be nosey neighbors,” McCollum said. “In this case, we may never have captured the two without the assistance of a concerned resident.”
Bond is scheduled to be set Feb. 23 at a hearing in Chicago.
