21st annual race unity day rally scheduled for Sept. 9

LA GRANGE – The CommUNITY Diversity Group will hold its 21st Annual Race Unity Rally in the La Grange Village Hall Auditorium at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 9. The annual event is intended to bring the community together to recognize its diversity, to celebrate the village’s rich history and to celebrate contributions made by all of its residents.

The keynote speaker is Dave Franson, principal of Lyons Township High School.

Prior to the rally, The CommUNITY Diversity Group is also sponsoring a free movie and discussion of “The Help.” The movie will be shown at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7. at the La Grange Public Library, located at 10 W. Cossitt Avenue.
