La Grange police blotter for Sept. 4

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of area police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

La Grange

ANIMAL COMPLAINTS

Caroline Lech, of 24 Hayes Ave., La Grange, was cited at 4:40 a.m. Saturday for having her dog at large outside her home.

BURGLARY

Someone smashed the passenger window of a car parked on the 100 block of North La Grange Road between 12:05 and 1:05 p.m. Monday.

DISTURBANCE

A 21-year-old La Grange man was transported to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital after he was seen lying face-down in the parkway on the south side of Maple Avenue between Spring and Kensington avenues with his feet hanging out in the street.

An intoxicated patron was reported bothering other customers at the Wild Monk, 88 S. La Grange Road, at 1:55 p.m. Sunday. The man left before police arrived. He had called police to complain about being harassed by other customers.

FRAUD

A resident of the 800 block of Arlington Avenue complained at 1:15 a.m. Aug. 30 he got a pop up on his computer screen saying he needed to pay $200 to unlock his computer after looking at pornography sites. Police advised him his computer may be infected with a virus after he visited certain sites.

MOVING VIOLATION

A 75-year-old Countryside woman and a 30-year-old Naperville man were transported to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at 2:09 p.m. Aug. 28 following a two-car crash at La Grange Road and East Avenue. Edith L. Ayala, of 9800 Joliet road, was cited for improper lane use

THEFT

An Obama/Biden sign was reported stolen at 8:21 a.m. Aug. 31 from the front yard of a home on the 300 block of South La Grange Road. The theft likely occurred between 10 p.m. Aug. 30 and 7 a.m. Aug. 31, the homeowner said.

A boys 20-inch red and black Diamondback bike, which was unlocked, was reported stolen at 6:02 p.m. Aug. 29 from outside the La Grange Public Library, 10 W. Cossitt Ave.

LaGrange Park

BURGLARY

Someone smashed the front passenger window of a vehicle parked on the 300 block of North La Grange Road Aug. 27 and took a backpack inside.

DISTURBANCE

Jamahl Sandifer, 20, of the 500 block of East 68th St., Chicago, was arrested at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 30 and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after he allegedly kicked in the door to an apartment on the 300 block of Beach Avenue following an altercation with a person inside. Sandifer left the scene and was questioned by La Grange police in Gordon Park, La Grange Road and Ogden Avenue, following an alert on the incident, and he was turned over to LaGrange Park police.

WARRANT

Juan C. Alcuter, 37, of 7417 W. 61st Place, Summit, was taken into custody by Willow Springs police at 8:05 p.m. Aug. 28 on warrants from LaGrange Park and DuPage County for driving on a suspended license.
