The dangerously cold temperatures in our area mean Lyons Township High School and feeder districts (102, 105, 107, 108) will be closed yet another day. Read the release:

WEATHER ALERT UPDATE - LTHS CLOSED TUESDAY, JAN. 28

Due to the extreme weather conditions, LT District 204 will remain closed Tuesday, January 28, 2014 when wind chills could reach 40 below zero. The combination of bitterly cold temperatures, no assurances that buses will function properly and in an effort to keep students and staff safe, all after school activities are also cancelled and will be re-scheduled; this includes all athletic practices and club meetings. At this point, school will resume as normally scheduled with students in attendance on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Should this need to be changed or altered for any reason, the district website will be updated.

According to Illinois school code, LT is required to make up this missed day, which will require the use of emergency days already on the adopted LT school calendar. We will communicate the plan for making up this day in the coming weeks.

I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday. Please stay safe and warm!

Tim Kilrea

Superintendent
