St. Francis students host veterans in La Grange

LA GRANGE — Fifth-graders at St. Francis Xavier School in La Grange hosted veterans Nov. 12 for a special Mass.

About 100 guests attended the service and reception. The veterans spoke with students in small groups about their military experience.

The event was part of the fifth-grade service theme — Honoring Veterans and Active Duty Service members. Each grade at the school has a different service theme and a highlight of the all-school service program takes place Dec. 7, when all 600 students will go out into the community to do service projects.
