Nazareth Academy plans Christmas concerts
Nazareth Academy’s Fine Arts Department is proud to offer two Christmas concerts in December. Both concerts are family-friendly and free to the public.
The Christmas Band Concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 will feature the musical talents of Nazareth’s Jazz Band, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. Under the direction of Andrew Boland, Director of Bands and Choirs, students will perform familiar carols, jazz standards and a selection of sacred music. The Wind Ensemble will perform their own version of “The Night Before Christmas,” narrated by Nazareth social studies teacher Anthony Gonzalez. Admission is free.
Join Nazareth’s Concert Choir and Progressions (vocal jazz choir) for a traditional Lessons and Carols concert at 2 p.m. Dec. 16. The two choirs will perform a mix of standard Christmas songs and hymns, plus some contemporary arrangements of newer pieces. Admission is free.
Both concerts will be held in Nazareth Academy’s auditorium, 1209 W. Ogden, LaGrange Park.
