District 105 prepares Band-Aid Benefit
LA GRANGE — The District 105 Annual Band-Aid Benefit will take place at 7:30 p.m. on April 18. This charity concert is a opportunity for the students and community of Gurrie Middle School to make a difference in the environment through community outreach and charity. It will be held at Gurrie Middle School 1001 S. Spring Ave., in La Grange.
There is no set admission at the door, however generous donations will be accepted. All proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research, a charity chosen by Christian Coclanes and voted on by the District 105 fine arts students. The groups hope to raise over $2000 to assist in the development of research for fighting this deadly disease.
The benefit concert will feature the Gurrie Concert Band, Concert Orchestra, Concert Choir, and the GMS Jazz Ensemble. There will be a brief keynote speaker and solo performances by students and special guests.
Directors Jerry Lowrey, Tracy Kay and Violet Muser invite the entire community to attend this important event. Come out and show your support for the spirit of charity, and help the kids of District 105 make a difference.
