LA GRANGE – Lisa Gamster, a teacher at LaGrange Highlands Middle School, was surprised Oct. 1 with the delivery of $1,000 in donated school supplies for her classroom.
Gamster was a winner of the OfficeMax A Day Made Better program, in which teachers are given supplies as part of the company’s National School Advocacy Program.
Students assisted in unpacking and organizing the items while creating graphs of the contents of each box and developing written responses about the event.
Principal Brian Graber said Gamster was nominated for the award based on the passion she demonstrates for her students and their learning.
“She fully invests herself in the lives of students, ensuring that they know how much they are valued,” Graber said. “She actively pursues her own growth and development, setting an example of lifelong learning.”
