Katy Perry and Lyons Township High School share the same birthday, and they just might be celebrating together.

The Student Council has decided to enter a contest to win a birthday appearance from the recording artist by submitting a two-minute video, senior Brendan Weibel told the School Board Sept. 16.

Perry’s birthday coincides with the school’s 125th anniversary being celebrated in 2013, Weibel noted.

The lip dub, to be shot Sept. 28 at the north campus in La Grange, will feature students lip synching to Perry’s hit, “Roar,” while walking through the halls to showcase all that LT has to offer, Weibel said.

The contest is sponsored by ABC’s Good Morning America, which will broadcast Perry’s performance at the winning school.
