Nazareth Academy senior Jen Salata, of Downers Grove, is an Honor Roll student, and the first person in the Class of 2014 to apply to college last fall. She's also a varsity soccer player who has also taken on a leadership role in service and ministry at Nazareth. Salata is a member of Youth Initiative, a Kairos Retreat leader and a Eucharistic Minister. Last summer, she was part of a student/faculty group that traveled to Solsberry Hill, Ind. for a week of intensive volunteer work.
Q: What are your post-high school plans?
A: I plan to attend either Indiana University or the University of Missouri (Mizzou) and major in business.
Q: What do you like to do on the weekends?
A: Mostly I am grateful I get to relax for a couple days. I get to see my friends and, of course, play soccer.
Q: What is your favorite class or favorite subject? Favorite teacher?
A: I really like Contemporary World Issues and Math. Mr. Gonzalez is one of my favorite teachers, just because we’ve really grown close through student activities and gotten to know each other so well.

A: Twitter or Instagram.
Q: What's the one thing someone wouldn’t expect to know about you?
A: I was a very competitive gymnast until last year. I placed second on balance beam in the state.
Q: What is the best thing about Nazareth Academy?
A: The friendly environment and all of the activities and opportunities offered to students.
Q: What is your favorite sports team?
A: Chicago Blackhawks.
