In the coming weeks we will be getting to know some of the outstanding students at Nazareth Academy. This week we meet Lucas Stimach, Class of 2014.

The Forest View native has taken advantage of all the opportunities Nazareth offers, from athletics to fine arts to Campus Ministry, Lucas has taken an active role. In addition to playing both Football and Boys Volleyball, he plays in the Marching Band and Jazz and Wind Ensembles. His artwork can be seen on display at Naz often. He’s also a member of the Tech, Aviation and Art clubs as well as Snowball. Lucas serves as a Eucharistic Minister, athletic trainer and as part of the Drama crew.

Q: What are your post-high school plans?

A: To go on to college and create my legacy by being myself and staying involved.

Q: What do you like to do on the weekends?

A: I go car shows over the summer and I like to hang out with my friends and family. I also like to stay involved with art.

Q: What is your favorite class or favorite subject? Favorite teacher?

A: That's a hard question because there are so many great teachers and classes at Naz. I would have to say one of my favorite subjects is math because it comes naturally to me and I enjoy it, but I do have other classes that I also like a lot.

Q: What is your favorite social media?

A: I really only have Facebook. I like it because it can be used in so many ways. It's not just for staying in contact with friends and family, but great for promotion. For example, I now have my own page called Lucas Stimach Design that has my artwork.

Q: What is one thing someone wouldn’t expect to know about you?

A: A lot of people don't really realize how big of a car person I am. I work on cars and love to draw them and go to car shows. My recent project with my dad is to get my '66 Corsair running again. It was damaged by flooding.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Nazareth Academy?

A: I love everything at Nazareth. The sports teams are great. Football gave me a family that I will always remember. I can't forget Band, Art and Campus Ministry. I love being a part of it all.

Q: What is your favorite sports team?

A: Da Bears -- along with the Blackhawks, White Sox, Bulls and the Naz Roadrunners

Q: What is the one website you that you must visit every day?

A: I do magic too and I do a lot of magic with playing cards. So I visit magic and card sites often.

Q: What is your favorite TV show?

A: “Voltron.”  I also like “Doctor Who” and the new show “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
