Despite efforts of two years to resolve the situation, smoke and the pungent smell of barbecue is forcing Urban Sole in La Grange to close its doors after seven years selling shoes, purses and women’s clothing. “We did OK with the recession by consolidating to one store to survive,” said Honor Lorenzini, who owns the boutique at 72 S. Weigh in on Metra schedule changes Metra is asking its riders to comment about minor schedule adjustments that it is proposing for its Burlington Northern Santa Fe Line to Aurora. Only certain trains on the BNSF line would see modifications. In most cases, the proposal adjusts a train’s departure times from certain stops or its running times between stations or overall by two to five minutes. Report: Illinois teen employment at lowest rate

Teen employment has continued to plummet in Illinois, according to a new report from Northeastern University. The rate dived to 27.5 percent in 2011, the lowest teen employment rate in the 42 years for which data is available. It is down from just under 50 percent in 1999-2000 and from 36 percent in 2007.
