LA GRANGE — Lyons Township High School staff member Michelle Wrona of Darien will study primate conservation strategies on the Southeast Asian island of Borneo. Wrona was selected to participate in summer 2013 global graduate studies as part of Miami University and Project Dragonfly’s Earth Expeditions Program. The graduate courses from Miami University’s Project Dragonfly are based on Earth Expeditions, which has engaged more than 1,400 people since 2004 in firsthand educational and scientific research at key conservation sites in Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas. But fourth-graders at Ogden Avenue School embraced the freedom to flex their creativity this month at a workshop conducted by guest poet and facilitator Bill Buczinsky. The College of DuPage Board got its first look at the proposed 2014 budget May 16. While the college’s financial rating is good, challenges loom in the immediate future, challenges that may lead to an increase in tuition. After attending a week-long engineering workshop in 2012, Zasadzinski brought Engineering Projects in Community Service to Nazareth, the first suburban school to participate in the program.
